About our Redcliffe Apartments in Caswell Bay

The Redcliffe Apartments which are situated almost on the beach at Caswell Bay, overlook one of the finest bays on the Gower peninsular.
Most have heard of Dylan Thomas, but Vernon Watkins, his close friend, also a talented poet lived in Redcliffe House where the Redcliffe apartments now stand.
But what of Redcliffe? It was built in 1964, originally as a hotel. Five floors in all with twelve apartments abreast.
Our apartments are on what is best described as the upper ground floor. Accessed directly from the rear of the building down 8 steps with supporting rails. From the front of the building, the apartments are seen to be on the first floor as Redcliffe is built on a split level.
2A is a one bedroom apartment which sleeps 2/4 having a double bed and a bed settee in the lounge.
3A is a two bedroom apartment which sleeps 4/6 having a double bed, bunk beds and a bed settee in the lounge.
They are situated alongside each other with an interconnecting door and when opened, serves as accommodation for a larger group.
Free car parking in the grounds of Redcliffe to the rear and front of the building. An electric gated entrance gives privacy and protection for parked cars. Apologies to all pet owners but no pets are allowed to stay at the apartments.
Sitting at the window in 3A I do wonder how I can put into words what I see. Visitors tell me the photos of the views don’t do it justice. Neither too, will my words.
Here before me, I see the sea – a sheltered beach, a location totally unspoilt. For all those who love the sea the perfect place to be!
Caswell Bay is one of many beaches dotted around the Gower Peninsular. With its wonderful sands, rock pools, two convenient cafes, beach kiosks none of which are visible from the apartment’s window. A short walk either side of the bay will take you to the coastal paths. A walker’s paradise!
A vast stretch of sands when the tide is out and a grand open swimming pool when the water laps the shores at Redcliffe.
At the moment I see surfers in the sea, three joggers on the beach and a couple with a young child. The morning light is just wonderful. It is now mid-October and the lifeguards are no longer here, they have done their duty for this year but will return next March and remain until the end of September.
Langland Bay, a walk of 35 minutes with a delightful Brasserie overlooking the sea. We bumped into our 2A guests on the footpath they were having a meal at the Brasserie and taking the £5 taxi back to Redcliffe – A good plan I thought!
The Redcliffe apartments private access to the beach is just a breath away. Many guests do not stray too far from Redcliffe and the bay but there is much to see around the Gower. The choice is yours!
We are so blessed in having two apartments in a wonderful a location and are so very pleased that many of our guests return again and again. Many of our peak weeks have already been taken. You can zoom in/out of the map below to see the Mumbles (5 mins drive, 45 mins walk) and Swansea (20 mins drive). London is about a 3-hour drive.
